Hats and Cotton Washcloths Aid the Homeless

Thank you Christine D for this awesome hand delivered donation.

As you can tell, Christine has been busy with here knitting needles.  A dozen hats all different sizes, super stretchy so they really will fit a variety of head sizes.  They're supper soft and so nicely made.  They have already been delivered and could be keeping someone warm as we speak.  I made a scheduled deliver, wearing my mask to Homeless Families Foundation.  They were waring masks, and gloves and practicing social distancing as well.  We've had some cool nights so they were very happy to get this donation (had quite a few bags).

And she's also included 5 of everyone's favorite corner to corner cotton washcloths.

Many thanks for thoughtfulness, and your special delivery.  Please keep up the good work.

Knitted Cotton Cloths and Personal Care Items Help Homeless

Thank you Christine D for this thoughtful donation.  LOVE the colors of the knitted cotton washcloths.  Christine has knitted a bakers dozen (13) using the always popular corner to corner pattern, Grandma's Favorite.  These cloths have several uses and always well received.

She's also included a nice collection of personal care items with her donation for Bridge and Beyond.  Remember folks click to see details.  You'll see a green and purple scrunchy as well.  No clue how you make those, but very nice idea.

Thanks Christine and please keep up the good work and know you've made a difference in the lives of those in need.

Sunny Florida Helps Bridge and Beyond Again!

Let's have another drum roll for our 2nd donation of 2020!  And that's two in a row from the sunny state of Florida.  How sweet of our friends from Florida to remember many of us don't share their lovely weather.

This wonderful donation is from our friend Laura E.  AND fun fact, Laura E was our second donation is the year 2019 as well, just spotted that here on Bridge and Beyond.  Hey, Laura, maybe you should go bet on something using the number 2, lol.

Seriously though folks, please take a look at this generous donation.  She has hats of varying sizes all nicely tagged, she has lots of personal care items..........a first aid kit included.......what a great idea!  She's also knitted Grandma's ever popular corner to corner cotton washcloth.  Tissues, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes and more.  AND socks!!

Well done Laura and please keep up the good work and know how many people you've been able to help!

2nd to the Last Donation of 2019 for Ohio's Homeless

Thank you Laura E!  This is our 2nd to last donation here on Bridge and Beyond for the year 2019.  Lots of variety with personal care items, knitted hats, knitted cotton wash cloth and a set with hat and scarf.

Many thanks Laura for your on going support of Bridge and Beyond.

Please click the picture to enlarge it so you can see the details of her hats.  There's a textured area in the center front with cute buttons on a couple of them and a little flower like on another.  Ahhhhhhhhh, very sweet.

Folks I'm trying to determine who sent the very last donation of 2019.  I have 2 crocheted scarves, but I don't have a note to indicate whom they're from.  Please sing out either here in the comment section, or email me, or send a note via this blog where it says contact me/message me.  Thanks

Laura, please keep up the good work and know you've made such an important difference in the lives of many.

Thank you Laura E for this thoughtful donation.  Laura has included quite a variety of goodies in her donation for Bridge and Beyond.  Lots of personal items, slippers, socks, a hat and scarf, and cotton washcloths.

Many thanks Laura.  Please know your help is very much appreciated.  Folks, keep our friend Laura in your thoughts, please.  She's recovering from surgery and a family tragedy; but still is giving of herself to help others.  What a special person she is.

((HUGS)) Laura, please take care of you and again thank you for your thoughtful donation.

Donation for the Homeless from Sunny Florida, Take 3

Thank you Laura E from sunny Florida for this awesome donation.  I'm on a roll posting wonderful donations from our friends in the sunny state of Florida, lol.  Seriously scroll back to the previous 2 posts.  What's the mathematical likelihood of that happening?  Donations are posted in order of receipt so I got a kick out of this.

As you can see, our friend Laura has been very busy indeed.  She knitted up a storm.....look at the hats for example.  So many colors and sizes and all nicely tagged with size!  Something to warm lots of different heads.  She's also included personal care items, scarves, socks, and cotton washcloths.

In addition to the knitted cotton washcloths, she's included store bought.

If you click to enlarge the picture, so you can see the details, you'll notice bundles...she's packaged matching scarves and hats by tying them together.  That's a lovely idea, thank you!

Please keep up the good work Laura and know how much of difference you've made for Ohio's homeless and others in need with your thoughtful and generous donation.

Sunny Florida Donation, Part II

Sorry this picture is a bit blurry, I must have moved.  This crocheted and knitted donation is a continuation of the donation in the previous post from our good friend and long time supporter, Sandra R from the sunny state of Florida.  LOVE the colors she's chosen for the scarves, all good for men or women...teen or adult.  And the stitch she's used is nice and puffy and warm...very solid.  She's included some personal care items also........AND two knitted cotton wash cloths.

AND
A wonderful knitted basket weave stitch afghan.  I love the texture this stitch provides.  AND please look (remember to click to enlarge any picture) at the colors...very nice indeed.  I believe this is a chunky yarn by the feel of it.  Very soft, very nice and I know will be received with great excitement.

Sandra does beautiful work, I just can't figure out when she sleeps!  Many thanks Sandra, and as always keep up the good work and know what a difference you've made in lives of many in need through your donations here at Bridge and Beyond.

Personal Care and More Help Homeless

Thank you Nikki S for this thoughtful donation.  Nikki has included lots of variety in her latest donation, socks, personal care items, crocheted scarf, matching red scarf and gloves, and long johns.  Though the calendar says it's spring....it's still dark and gloomy, still damp, still cold here in Central Ohio............particularly in the evenings for those living in the elements, so this donation of goodies was very much appreciated.

Special thanks too Nikki for hand delivering to my door!  I got this donation delivered pronto to Rae, our friend who prepares hot meals on Sat mornings for those living out in the elements.  She was thrilled, as she knows the need of those folks.

Thank you Nikki, and please keep up the good work.

Personal Care and Afghans, Cardiac Collage and Jeweled Lines

Jeweled Lines is done...except I need to finish tucking in the ends, launder and block.  I've been way laid doing that...

Some person care items I collected during out recent trip to Park City, Utah.  I always collect jazz when we travel.

This is the afghan I'm currently working on.  The bottom block has the blue from the recent donation of yarn from Gail B (scroll back to previous post if you missed it).  This ghan will have lots of different colors, will not have a pattern to it, won't have equal amounts of color in each block, or even the same colors in each block.  This afghan is called Cardiac Collage.  I've been blogging about it on my person blog, Sandy's Space.  It's titled Cardiac Collage as I grabbed 2 skeins of yarn or parts there off when hubby and I were off to the ER recently.  He had a cardiac event.  I spent time there in the ER and subsequent day in his hospital room just knitting, with really no great plan in place.  The blog upper right with dark purple as a big part of the block, and 2 stripes of orange was the start and is the yarn I had with me at the time.  Cardiac events are
helter skelter...so, the afghan will be too.

One block currently doesn't any yellow in it, one doesn't have any turqoise, 3 don't have orange but have peach, 3 with orange have o peach, 2 don't have lavendar, and currently only one has tan and blue.  Plan to add blue and tan to a couple , but don't want it to always been close to the edge...so will start 3 more blocks where I put those perhaps more in the middle...and red only in 3 ..will add some red in the new blocks too.  Using up odds and ends in part

Was nice to have something portable to tote during the hospital stay.

First Aid and More for the Homeless

Thank you Tammy S for this thoughtful and generous donation of goodies.  Tammy is our newest pair of helping hands and hails from the state of Pennsylvania.  Welcome to Bridge and Beyond.  LOVE these scarves.  Folks click to see details, she has crocheted using I believe triple crochet front and back post to create a wonderful texture to her nice large scarves.  These are all sized large enough for men!  They are thick due to the texture.
AND 18 pairs of very nice heavy warm socks.  Each pack has 3 pairs of socks, thus 18 pairs of feet will now be warmer.  Warm dry feet can sure make someone more comfortable.
AND look at this wonderful selection of personal care items.  Klenex, hand wipes that can be used when our homeless friends have no water to wash up.  Soap and lotion.......AND first aid kits!  That is something I've never thought about before, but think it's a wonderful idea and something that be well received.

Many thanks Tammy for your thoughtfulness, sure hope to see you here often on Bridge and Beyond, and please keep up the good work.

Where are You and Your Yarn From?

I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.

Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.
